Our Journey
What if the story of our pet's care could stay connected over time?
mittiPaw didn't start as a product idea. It started as a question we kept running into.
Care, scattered everywhere
A prescription photographed and forgotten in a camera roll. A vaccination certificate folded into a drawer. A vet's instructions half-remembered from a conversation weeks ago. None of it was lost exactly — it was just scattered across places that didn't talk to each other.
Anyone who has cared for a pet through more than a routine check-up knows this feeling: the information exists, somewhere, but pulling it together when it actually matters takes more effort than it should.
Why connected care matters
A single document rarely tells the whole story. A prescription means more alongside the visit that led to it. A vaccination record means more when you can see what came before and what's due next. We kept coming back to the same idea: care becomes more useful when its pieces stay connected, not when there are simply more of them.
That's the problem mittiPaw set out to help with — not replacing a vet, not generating answers, but keeping the everyday details of care organized and connected so they're there when you need them.
The Name
Why mittiPaw?
Mitti means earth — something grounded, natural and full of the possibility of growth.
And a paw is deeply personal. It is the little mark our animals leave across our homes, our routines and our lives.
mittiPaw brings those two ideas together. A belief that care should have roots, that it should grow with time, and that the small moments of everyday care should remain connected to the larger story of a pet’s life.
The logo grew from the same thought.
At its heart is a paw, representing the pet around whom everything begins. Beneath it are layers of earth, a reminder that good care is built gradually — one visit, one record, one vaccination, one ordinary day at a time. And from that earth comes a small green leaf: a quiet symbol of life, growth and the care we hope continues through every stage.
Nothing in the mark is meant to feel clinical or technological. That was intentional.
Because behind all the information mittiPaw may help organize, there is something much simpler:
someone trying to take good care of an animal they love.
That is mittiPaw.
Grounded in care. Growing with every paw.
Building carefully
It would have been faster to ship a simple document folder and call it done. We chose the slower path instead — thinking through how a scanned document becomes organized information, how a family shares access to a pet's care without losing track of who can see what, and how a household actually uses something like this in practice.
Working with real documents
Pet care documents are rarely clean, flat scans. They're photographed on a kitchen counter, at an angle, sometimes blurry, sometimes with a shadow across the corner. So that's what we test with — imperfect, everyday photographs rather than only ideal examples — because that's what care actually looks like.
Choosing to slow down
More than once, we've paused a feature we were excited about to fix something underneath it first — a permission boundary, a way documents were being processed, a rough edge in how family sharing behaved. It's tempting to keep adding; it's more important to make sure what already exists holds up.
Privacy as part of the product
Pet health information is personal. Access to it follows the pet and the people you choose to share with — it isn't an afterthought bolted on at the end. We treat privacy and access control as part of what mittiPaw is, not a policy page separate from it.
Where mittiPaw is going
We’re building mittiPaw carefully, choosing clarity, trust and continuity over adding features for their own sake. The direction stays the same: help the pieces of a pet's care stay connected, built carefully, one considered step at a time.
Behind every record is a pet.
Behind every pet is someone who cares.
In loving memory of Sify.
