mittiPaw Privacy Policy

Overview

mittiPaw ("mittiPaw", "the app", "we", "us") helps users organize pet care information they choose to add, such as pet profiles, health records, reminders, scanned documents, and care notes. It is designed as a calm place for keeping everyday pet care information connected and supporting conversations with veterinarians. This policy explains what information mittiPaw collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using mittiPaw, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information you provide

• Account information, such as your email address.
• Pet profile details, such as name, species, breed, and photos.
• Pet health records and care notes, including prescriptions, vaccinations, lab reports, and vet bills.
• Reminders you set for pet care tasks.
• Uploaded or scanned documents and images.
• Family Care information: invitations you send or accept, and the membership role (owner, editor, or viewer) associated with a shared pet.
• Support messages, if you contact us.

Information collected automatically

To operate the app, mittiPaw processes basic technical information, including:

• Authentication and session information needed to keep you signed in and to identify your account.
• Operational and error logs used to diagnose failures and keep the service reliable.
• Basic request metadata generated when the app communicates with our servers.

mittiPaw does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not use crash-reporting SDKs, at this time.

How mittiPaw uses information

• Provide and maintain the app, including account creation and sign-in.
• Store and organize pet profiles, health records, and reminders.
• Process uploaded or scanned documents, including automated text extraction, so information can be reviewed and organized.
• Support Family Care sharing that you set up.
• Protect accounts and help prevent misuse.
• Diagnose failures and provide support in response to your requests.
• Comply with legal obligations.

Family Care

mittiPaw lets a pet's owner invite other people ("Family Care" members) to a pet, with a role of editor or viewer. If you use this feature:

• An editor can view and add to a shared pet's records; a viewer can view them.
• Information added to a shared pet may be visible to other members with access to that pet.
• Only the pet's owner can remove a member's access. Once access is removed, that member no longer has ongoing access to the pet.

Please only share a pet with people you trust, and do not upload another person's personal information without their permission.

Document processing and automated review

When you scan or upload a document, mittiPaw may use automated text extraction to help read and organize the content, and may use an AI provider to generate plain-language summaries of your pet's records. This processing may run on our own servers, and depending on configuration, may also involve cloud document-processing providers.

Automated or AI-generated results may be incomplete or incorrect. Review extracted or summarized information before relying on it. mittiPaw is not a veterinary diagnosis service and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency advice. Always consult a qualified veterinarian for medical decisions about your pet, and seek emergency veterinary care when needed.

Data sharing and service providers

mittiPaw does not sell your personal information.

We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf, under their own security commitments:

• Cloud hosting for our backend application.
• Authentication, database, and file storage services.
• Document-processing and AI services used to extract and summarize the content of documents you submit, where those features are used.

We do not share your information for third-party advertising.

Data storage and security

mittiPaw uses account-based access controls, so that pet records are only accessible to your account and to Family Care members you explicitly grant access to. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to help protect your information.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. mittiPaw is not independently certified or audited at this time.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Deleted information and any backup copies may take a reasonable period of time to be fully removed from our systems.

Account and data deletion

You can delete your account from inside the app, from Profile settings. Deleting your account is intended to remove your account-linked information, including pets you solely own and their records, subject to reasonable processing time and any limited retention described above.

If you own a pet that is actively shared through Family Care, you may need to remove other members from that pet before your account can be deleted, so their access is not unexpectedly disrupted.

Your choices and rights

You can access and update most of your information directly in the app, manage who has Family Care access to your pets, and request deletion of your account as described above. You may contact us with questions about your information or to make a request we cannot fulfil in the app.

Children

mittiPaw is intended for use by people who are legally able to manage an account, and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can address it.

International processing

Information may be processed in locations where mittiPaw or its service providers operate.

Website

This section covers app data practices described above, which are separate from the behavior of any website hosting platform used to publish this page. We do not add our own analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts to this website beyond what the hosting platform itself may use to operate the site.

Medical disclaimer

mittiPaw is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. The app is for organizing pet care information and supporting conversations with your veterinarian. Always consult a veterinarian or qualified veterinary professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
